Happy New Year and Lessons-Wisdom From 2008

January 6th, 2009

Happy New Year and best to you and your family all year long!
I had this wish in my heart for you on January 1st, however was not able to communicate that then.

The end of 2008 was hectic, traumatic, a time of personal growth and learning for me.  My mom fell, broke bones, was hospitalized and in nursing home before she went to live with her Lord the week of Christmas.

2008 was an unusual year for so many people, possibly you too.  It seems we all have lessons to learn, personal growing to do, changes to make in our attitudes, our way of life and more……………..

My wish and hope for you and for me too, is that our 2008 experiences, as challenging as they were, have inspired us to make some changes in our life…our habits, our way of living, working, caring about and for others, our relationships, spirituality, our financial health.

If 2008 inspired us to change and grow, then it was a good year and will lead us into better situations in 2009 and beyond as a result of changes in our actions and beliefs.   I sincerely believe there was purpose in 2008 to assist all of us in some way for our future lives.

So………let’s go out and live, apply the new wisdom and learning from 2008, take new actions and inspire others to do the same.    And notice how life becomes better for those who do this.

Talk to you soon.

That Little Angel Boy Inspired Me – I’m Forever Thankful for Him!

November 23rd, 2008

He was our precious first-born, with several severe disabilities, mental and physical.  He never learned to speak, didn’t comprehend, had grand mal seizures, never even learned to chew food, or to eat by himself.   Caring for him was a 24/7 career. Read the rest of this entry »

Food For Thought - Much Wisdom Here

November 14th, 2008

A friend sent me this today.  Many gold nuggets here, much food for thought.  I want to share it with you.

A Message by George Carlin - He wrote this after his wife died

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings
but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend
more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and
smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees
but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more
problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too
much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too
angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too
much, and pray too seldom.  Read the rest of this entry »

Want More Readers for Your Blog?

November 2nd, 2008

Are you wondering how to get more readers for your blog, which has good content that can help many people and businesses?   It is a concern for me.

If you think your blog has been under appreciated and under-read, I suggest you check out new idea from Chuck Westbrook’s Blog, I quote:
1.  Gather some nice bloggers who believe in helping good content rise. The more the merrier. This becomes our group for the project.
2.  A good, lesser-known blog is chosen. Everyone in the group will read that blog for two weeks.
3.  At the end of the two weeks, the group moves to another blog to read.

With scores of bloggers focused on a particular blog, the author should see many nice things happen over those two weeks, especially if the blog really is a hidden gem. This includes discussions, traffic, constructive criticism, encouragement, and connecting to some of the bloggers in the group. That author then joins the group and we move along and do it again.  (end Quote)

If you wish to participate, do this:
Go to Chuck Westbrook’s Blog and follow the simple instructions:

Are You Selling to People or Allowing Them to Buy?

October 26th, 2008

Selling tactics used to be effective in business….most times.   I remember being regularly trained in persuasion (really they were ‘pressure’) tactics decades ago when I was an entrepreneur that sold door to door products from major company.   Those selling tactics are still quite common today.  Statistics show that the biggest percent of people are not successful in their business.  I believe one major reason is that they are taught and use or ‘try to use’ selling tactics, rather than allowing people to buy.
