Salt Lake City (April 1, 2008) – Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff and Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon and Susanne Mitchell of the CJC will address the media on Thursday, April 3 at 1 p.m. at the Salt Lake County Children’s Justice Center (CJC) located at 257 11th Avenue (B Street) in Salt Lake City.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month Nationwide

“The Children’s Justice Centers of Salt Lake County lead the nation in addressing child abuse through neighborhood centers which allow children to be treated with respect in a comforting setting,” said Mayor Corroon. “Last year, 3,400 citizens were served at the two locations.”
CJCs help empower children to have a voice and feel supported and safe. Although each child’s visit to the program is brief, within a few hours children and families feel much better after receiving services.
