What an incredible guest on our show today, the 3rd of June… We were recently contacted to do an interview with author G.L. Sheerin about his brand new book called “Virus Games” so David and I jumped at the chance to help children gain a better understanding of the internal workings of the internet but also for us bigger kids as well to have some fun and re-live our Hardy Boys days and a chance to learn from a real internet security professional, as well. Gary shared why he wrote his brand new and this very interesting and “current topics” book about what he does everyday, for a living!

Fool-proof net safety, with author G.L. Sheerin… Today’s stomping grounds aren’t like the ones of yesteryear. In a world where kids would rather surf the net rather than the neighborhood, the burden to protect their kids online often leaves parents looking for net-safety solutions while trying to keep up with their ever-changing, tech-savvy kids. To help your listeners stay net safe and savvy, Internet technology professional and children’s author G.L. Sheerin uses his extensive experience as both an I.T. professional and a father to share insight on how to keep kids safe online. Sheerin is the author of the fictional children’s book “Virus Games” (Synergy Books, 2008) – part of the Peter’s Packet book series – and incorporates technology in a fun, light-hearted adventure story, while teaching children computer concepts. Sheerin has been a featured guest on “Tampa Bay’s 10 News this Morning” and syndicated radio show “Nexus Found.”

This young boy looks forward to finishing reading the book and as soon I as do, I will update this post and tell you how the book ended well OK, I will just give you my thoughts and review… if the book is 1/10th as good as the interview we had with Gary, then I am sure, I’m in for a real treat…
