“Meeting Your Match is Good for the Soul and the Bank Account - Are you and your products or opportunity a “fit”?
Personally, I just never could see myself going to lunch with an associate or client and saying, “I just started a new business selling this great new line of shampoo and hair care preparations. The products are great and the patented micro-bead, vitamin and uranium enriched formula, gives your hair that body and “glow” you’ve always dreamed of”.
First, I am going bald, so not a lot of credibility there. Secondly…… I simply had no interest in products and opportunities where you are limiting your market to women, as most men are not going to get out and market personal care items, or the opportunity to sell them, to their family, friends, and colleagues! Many women have no interest in selling products where the target market is only men. I am not one for catering to the whining politically correct culture and am not offended by that! I prefer an opportunity with products and services having a wider, universal appeal providing real life altering financial and life style benefits.
Although marketing consumables can be wonderful opportunities providing good incomes, I simply have no interest in those products. It is simply a matter of personal preference. Ask my wife, I don’t need special products. I’d wash my hair with Crest toothpaste if I could get a good lather out of it and then actually wash the stuff out of my hair… But, of course only “Regular Flavored” paste. I never liked the way my hair smelled after trying all those other nasty flavors Crest has come up with.
Although it was a long and very expensive search, I found an Internet based business that provides products and services which are a match for me, my personality, as well as educational and professional background. They are products combined with an opportunity I am very comfortable talking to anyone about. To me, the products and services are as powerful and potentially life changing as the business opportunity.
Now, with confidence I can go out onto the golf course with friends or associates and tell them “I am having great success diversifying my income and significantly increasing the returns on my investments. I’m on the path to becoming totally debt free and financially independent over the next year to three years, including a fully funded retirement portfolio, regardless of the economy.”
I want to keep things real, so I will tell you I don’t play golf (or really even understand those that doJ. Still I’m glad for everyone who is so happy to have the Ryder Cup back on U.S. soil again!), but due to the high quality of my opportunity and the very powerful and effective marketing system it has been combined with, I am very confident and comfortable talking about my home based internet business in conversations in just about any situation.
Most of my business contacts and prospects come from marketing on the Internet so I rarely, if ever, market to friends, family, and associates. The point is, I finally found an opportunity I can comfortably talk about to anyone who has an interest in financial prosperity and personal success.
You can not make money with out selling. However, with the marketing tools and automated system I use, I rarely have to do any personal selling or explaining. With this system, many join before they even speak to anyone other than my call center, included as part of the automated system. The call center does most of the selling for me. Selling, explaining and rejection free marketing has revolutionized business for many, especially those struggling to find additional blocks of time to get a business enterprise up and going!

Don’t laugh too hard. I would bet there are a number of you reading this right now, enjoying your cup of coffee, with your feet propped up on an old case of nutrient enhanced “Glacial Sea Mud and Kelp Face Mask” (also a fictional product) you’ve had stored in your dinning room for the past few of years.
And….fess up!….How many of you men actually tried out that patented pending concoction, to see if it worked? (You know, you have to be a product of the product!)
Remember your wife’s reaction when she walked-in on you in the bathroom……. wearing nothing but the towel wrapped-up on top of your head. You were leaning over the counter, staring into the steamed-up mirror with an application of that dark, sea green colored mask on one-half of your face, leaving only a cucumber sized circle visible around your eye. Not a pretty sight. And then the added humiliation when she yelled, “Kids, come see daddy!”
Latter, in the second week in September you notice, the anatomically correct crayon drawing of a man, wearing nothing but a towel on his head and a partial sea green mask on his face, labeled “My Daddy”, stuck to the refrigerator.
Upon closer inspection, you also noticed the hand written note from the 2nd Grade teacher scrolled across the bottom of the drawing saying “The content of this drawing may be inappropriate for young school children presenting show and tell pictures for “What My Family Did Over Summer Vacation!” And, to boot, there were no gold stars attached? Only a sad face, which actually looked kind of well… angry!
But looking back, it was worth it, wasn’t it? After all, the test half of your face really did look 10 years younger, with a reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smaller pores, and skin softer than a baby’s behind under your stubble, didn’t it? And all that money you made?
However, the left over product has made great birthday and Christmas gifts for friends and family. They in turn have re-gifted them over and over, so everyone wins! And admit it, now when you’re home alone, no one else around…isn’t it still nice to spoil yourself with a relaxing exfoliation and facial?
Although mostly fictional, I’m embarrassed to say I’ve been somewhere in there! And truly, there is nothing wrong with marketing personal care products, household products, or just about anything else you enjoy.
If you haven’t had any success with your business, you have to ask yourself….are the products and services your company is offering, or the opportunity you are marketing, something you can be serious about?
Through the hype of most opportunity “pitches” it is rarely explained that the lower the cost of the products and services, the longer it will take for you to build a team to reach the income results you desire. There you were, late summer, sitting by the phone, sweating, knots in your stomach, as you wrestled with the prospect of picking up that 1,000 pound phone.
You were rehearsing your script and trying to work up the courage to call your list of 100 best fiends, long-time neighbors, colleagues, and business associates with the “opportunity” to join you in your new “multi-level marketing business”. After all, it was the way you were told to market your products and opportunity.
As you went to dial the next number, you couldn’t explain it, but somehow the option of throwing on a pair of rubber boots and coveralls, and joining Mike Rowe on location with “Dirty Jobs”, shoveling the “honey” out the giant tanks at the sewer plant, didn’t seem like such a bad option after all.
Trying to pull yourself together, you though “This is crazy!” You reasoned that you were an accomplished and highly regarded professional, a business leader respected in your community. You might even have an advanced degree with a successful business practice.
You studied the phone script and you knew exactly what you were supposed to say! You just had to do this!
You were selling boxes of soaps, phone cards, diet shakes, water systems, and even beauty products! Of course, everyone needs this stuff already and you had the latest and greatest! Now they could buy from you! But after your first put-offs and hang-ups, you knew the real problem was, how were you going to deal with the embarrassment and rejection coming your way on the next 98 calls?
It sounded like a good idea in the business presentation. You were pumped! You were ready to set the word on fire, work in your underwear at the kitchen table, make more money, and work only when you wanted to. There was no way this wasn’t going to work. You were answering your entrepreneurial call, starting a home based business. You’d be set for life. Early retirement here you come!
However, now faced with the reality of actually telling your friends and family that you had started selling “Lost World Indonesian Island Exotic Fruit Juice Extract” (a fictional product), the enthusiasm was gone.
Now you were even losing sleep. You were torn by the desire to develop your entrepreneurial calling, but worried sick over how this business could tarnish your personal reputation, and maybe even lower the value of your professional stock. You also feared adverse reactions or even rejection by friends, family, and associates. Four, six, even eight years in college and you are selling what?!
But, you were desperate! If you didn’t make the calls, what in the world were you going to do with the $15,000 worth of product delivered to your front door? You knew you wanted to make more money, diversify your income streams, and catch up on your retirement investments, but now you just couldn’t bring yourself to do it…Not This! What was I thinking?

“To my surprise, much of the freedom I was looking for turned out to be once again, just a natural progression of doing predictable tasks, in a routine of performing required steps, but now in a very powerful and leveraged way using sound and proven business building strategies. There are always challenges, and problems, but the experience and results have been anything but ordinary and quite honestly, often times, a lot of fun!
As in any worth while endeavor, expertise is valued building an online business. However, it is enhanced by creativity used applying your personal strengths to your own entrepreneurial enterprise. When leveraged by the new and powerful sales free and rejection free automated system, you have all of the powerful tools required to get you started until you develop your own expertise!
I now enjoy the many freedoms and benefits that come from building a successful home based business. As a bonus this happened with the support received from associations and friendships developed in building incredible relationships with some of the best and brightest entrepreneurs in the industry.
No longer is working your traditional business or practice 10, 12, or even 14 hours, or longer per day, sometimes six or seven days a week, the only way to make a significant income. Diversifying, and often replacing, your income by starting a home based business now provides many using this system with financial abundance, combined with personal and time freedoms. Leverage, as it turns out, is a powerful thing! In diversifying your sources of income, would you rather have only the income based on 100% of your efforts, or 1% of the income of 100, 1,000, or even 10,000 others’ efforts?
Starting a home/Internet based opportunity is serious business. You will have to commit precious, and often, scarce time and monetary resource to its development. But I know of no other proven opportunity that can provide the financial stability and rewards that starting a home based business can.
The rewards have definitely been worth the sacrifices. The only regret…, I wish the simplicity of this combined top tier income opportunity and powerful, automated marketing system, the one I now use, had been available when I was starting. It would have saved me and many others, now thriving, a lot of frustration, as well as significant losses of time and money. My name is Glen Jacobs. For over 20± years I have been a commercial real estate appraiser. Most of my career I worked for others. Then finally, after too many years, I finally walked away from my last employer. I had nothing to hold me back. Although I was paid well, there was no retirement account, no stock options, no insurance benefits, no 401K, no paid vacations or days off. No benefits at all! My wife worked for our benefits.
After contemplating career options, I agreed to open up shop with three incredible partners. Although I loved my new boss (me), and the new environment we created in our practice, our own shop resulted in more stress, more time commitment, and not really that much more money for the time.
Now my old employer didn’t own me, my own appraisal practice did. The reality was I had bought myself a job, with a total investment of just under $100,000. Do you know many people who would pay $100,000 for their jobs?

Three of the “Why’s” I am Building My Business
Now…I love my partners, and still consult with them on a regular basis. But for many years I had been searching for something else outside of the appraising, where I could apply my personal strengths and develop my passion for building my own business. I could never find anything that met the standards I had set for myself in the “mom and pop” home business industry.
Few opportunities seemed worthy of the time and sacrifice it would take to develop true success. Even though I dabbled, I found it very hard to say to myself that I was going to make additional time and monetary sacrifices building a business selling lotions and potions, phone cards, or the like. The passion was never there. But, despite an extended and very costly search, I finally found the quality opportunity I was seeking!
Now I am the first to tell you that I have been both inspired and humbled by “rags to riches” stories of many becoming successful entrepreneurs. Chances are you’ve heard many of them.
You have heard the inspirational sagas of the rise from tragedy and failure to extreme success, earning even six and seven figure monthly incomes. You have listened to gripping stories of some going from living in a car, to having multiple estate homes around the country, or even the world. You’ve listened to the stories of those overcoming addictions, handicaps and abuses and devastating accounts of alienation by friends and family for many struggling on their entrepreneurial journey…so many incredible stories!
Although their journeys may have taken them down different paths, they arrive at the same destination. At the end, the common compelling force behind their success was simply the refusal to quit and the determination to never give up.
I will have to confess, mine is not a rags to riches story. In fact, I will have to say that I have been truly blessed in my entrepreneurial journey. Our family has never been truly without, I and I am blessed with family and friends. I have also thankfully, had the complete support of my wife.
The essential trait I share with many who have overcome great obstacles is that I saw a new path I wanted to take, and took it with the determination TO NEVER EVER QUIT! NEVER!
The struggle for me was becoming a true entrepreneur. It was in me, but it was buried deep down inside, covered by the safety and familiarity of the pursuit of traditional professional success. For me and many other professionals much of my own sense of value to others became tied up in what I did for a living, but not necessarily in the satisfaction of doing it. Even so, I wanted to get out there and explore other areas. But, I held back my creative, adventurous, or risk taking side. It was hard to loosen up or let go.
I only had late evenings and some short blocks of time on weekends, to get started. I was overwhelmed by vast sea of opportunities and the never ending array of technology available. With each new and promising solution, I found information for an even newer and more promising solution, many costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Even with careful consideration, most solutions never lived up to their promises!
There were many times when I wouldn’t do anything for fear of making another wrong choice, and I was very reluctant to admit I needed help. Wasn’t this just supposed to be a simple home based business? How hard can this be really be? It was like ignoring my wife’s advice to ask for directions when I got lost on a trip. The experience was not what I had been hoping for. I became my own worst enemy!
As a professional in the appraisal industry, bound by standards of professional practice, you didn’t just “wing-it”, to see if something would fly. That was grounds for professional disciplinary actions, a damaged professional reputation, or even litigation. Expertise is definitely valued over creativity.
My success as a professional in a traditional business setting was just a natural progression of doing predictable tasks, in a routine of performing required steps, day in and day out, week in and week out for years. There were always challenges and problems, but rarely anything truly out of the ordinary.
As a determined, but very inexperienced entrepreneur, I struggled to grasp the big picture of just what it would take for me to go from being confined in a box of uniform standards of professional practice, to the freedom of entrepreneurism. But thank goodness I finally found an answer! ”
