Glen Jacobs - “Live Life Well”

It was just one of those great weekends with my sons. I often wonder why in the world we work so hard during the week. I’ve decided it is to we can have weekends like this past weekend!

My wife was off enjoying time with her friends at our Church’s annual ladies retreat. Good fellowship. Good worship. Great food with no cooking or clean-up! She was in paradise.

When the wives are away, the husbands and children play! I don’t think we ate at home all weekend! Friday night was a bonfire and cookout.

Saturday was running the boys to sports, church youth leadership meetings and some yard work. Saturday night was dinner out with the guys and children (teenagers). Dinner, was at Bubbalou’s Bodacious BBQ in Altamonte Springs, just north of Orlando. If you are in town you’ve got to go there. They have one in Winter Park too!

After to much to eat we went Lil’ 500 Go Cart Track in Fern Park. I know I’ve been driving for over 30 years, but the fast track is a blast! We had a great group of about 20. Lil’ 500 has been there for 35± to 40 years. I lived right down the street when I was young. My wife and I went there as kids. We topped the evening off with banana splits and shakes!

Sunday was church for most of us. I played hookey with my 16 year-old son Josh. My dad gave him two tickets to an Atlanta Braves Spring Training game at Walt Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex for his birthday. Sunday was season ticket holders special event with lunch and autograph signing. My dad usually takes him, but I got the pleasure this time. They played the Houston Astros. Gave them a good beating. It was a great day for Josh. The Braves won, and I let him drive there and back. He just got his license.

The wife got home same time we did. Boys went to youth group. When they came home we had a nice family dinner, and got everyone ready to start another week of working hard!
