Term of the Day - Pay Per Lead (PPL)

Definition - In a pay per lead campaign, the advertiser only pays for leads generated at the advertiser’s destination site.  No payment is made for visitors who don’t opt-in to the lead list.

How You Can Make Money Online - A lead is generally an individual opting-in to be placed on a “list” by providing the required contact information. At a minimum a name and a valid email address are typically required.

Opting-in to a lead list typically involves no payment to the advertiser from the individual opting-in to the list.  In fact the advertiser must often provide incentives for someone to opt-in, such as a free report, recording, or e-book.
