Term of the Day - Multi-way Linking
Definition - Multi-way linking is a technique used for website promotion. Websites create similar one-way links that each involves three or more partner sites.
There are two configurations for multi-way linking: Open loop and Closed loop. The open loop configuration is where the first site only gives links, and the last site only receives links. The loop is never closed so the originating website never receives a link back and the last website never gives a link.
In the closed loop configuration, the first site receives a one-way link from the last site added to the exchange. This method provides each partner website with a one-way non-reciprocal link in the exchange.

How To Make Money Online With The Internet Marketing Term Of The Day - This technique has developed out of the strategy of reciprocal linking. According to Google and Yahoo, the latest search algorithms hold less favor towards websites that contain a high percentage of reciprocated links, and more favor towards websites that maintain a high level of incoming, non-reciprocated (one-way) links.
The term multi-way simply refers to the fact that the link exchange is between three or more websites, as opposed to reciprocal which is between two websites. However each link to a website is singular by only pointing to one other website. Other means of linking that may increase your web presence may also include other indirect methods such as loading images, videos, content or RSS feeds from a third partners website.
