You Have 10 Seconds…
As a home based business owner you need to know that you only have ten seconds or less. That’s the time it takes for someone to make their first impression about you. That’s not a lot of time is it? As the world gets busier and busier this issue grows even worse. To compound that problem, once someone makes that evaluation they are likely to stick to it.
What does this mean to you and your business ? Plenty if you’re willing to use the info to your advantage. For instance; it might make some sense now to pre-determine how you will present yourself to a person of interest from the very start. Being alert, aware; offering a smile and a handshake are a good start.
What about your appearance? Like it or not attractive people get more positive ‘evaluations’ than people who aren’t so great looking - especially if they fail to show confidence, poise, or they look like they slept in their clothes.
It also helps a lot to have a few interesting points of conversation - or better yet - your business’s ‘elevator speech’ ready to roll out of your mouth naturally and professionally.
Think about this topic thoroughly because first impressions are lasting ones. This offers you the ability to leverage those first few seconds into lasting business success.
