Are You Part Of An Empowering Team - Part 3

August 27th, 2008

TEAM - “It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.” Harry S. Truman

While discussing the concept of team with one of my own team members just a few short days ago - we touched upon the characteristics that make for a good team member. It’s one thing to one to gain value from being part of a team, however it is also very important to bring value to the team as well. So now let’s see what we can Be and Do to add value to a team. Are You Part Of An Empowering Team? - Part 2

August 26th, 2008

“None of us is as smart as all of us.” Ken Blanchard

Why choose to be part of a team?

Last time we looked at the expanded definition of team. Today, let’s look at the benefits of being part of a team.

I for one could not be moving towards my desired life without all of the various team members I interact with. Even though, not all of these individuals are part of the same team, as I belong to a few “teams”… more on that later.

When I really understood from an experiential level rather than a head level the benefits of a team - I began to wonder why I had not participated in them earlier.

I found I was able to Read the rest of this entry »

Are You Part Of An Empowering Team? - Part 1

August 25th, 2008

“Together Everyone Achieves More”

The benefits of being part of a team are numerous, and so valuable in helping you live your life on purpose. Yet, this concept is not always explicitly taught - we often learn about teams through trial and error. If you have had a negative experience, you may be reluctant to participate in one.

However, I have personally come to realize that in order to achieve any of my big dreams and live my ideal life, that I need to be a part of a team - I cannot go it alone.

Let’s first of all Read the rest of this entry »

Discover What Makes For Deeply Felt Happiness?

August 15th, 2008

Experiencing pleasurable moments and being truly happy are not synonymous in my mind.

There are many times in years gone by, where what I was experiencing at the moment was very pleasurable. I was spending time with people I love - I was outside with the sun shining brightly - I was eating my favorite foods  - I was walking along the beach and so on… You get the picture, as you have had those moments yourself. Yet, years ago, I was not always feeling happy on the inside, during those moments. There were occasions where I felt there was still something missing, though I could not necessarily describe that feeling or label the emotion.

With more observation and greater awareness, I come to see that there are many folks who have a life of pleasure - they are in a good position financially, they spend a lot of time in recreational activities, party a lot with friends, they go out to many events, yet they are not experiencing happiness.

On the other hand I have seen people who are not spending as much time in recreational activities, who are on purpose and doing work they love, who may have devoted their life to a cause that is dear to them. They get a lot done, are acknowledged in their particular field, yet they are not completely happy either.

So what is the secret to this feeling of happiness that we all seek? Read the rest of this entry »

Which Life Lesson Are You Observing As You Watch The Olympics Unfold?

August 13th, 2008

“Life is the mirror reflecting back to us, who we really are.”

The Olympics have been playing for only 6 short days, and already we find a plethora of newspaper clippings, news casts, and media reports on these games, on China as a country, and on its beautiful people.

A number of life lessons have unfolded for the world to learn from, if we take a moment to reflect beyond the picture that appears on the screen or the words that fill the many pages.

One particular newspaper article caught my eye and one specific television newscast had my ears perked up - they were both touching upon a similar subject but in two different contexts.

The newspaper article was speaking of the walls that had been put up around certain areas for so called advertising purposes, yet the true purpose of these walls was to hide the poverty and the less favorable. On the other hand, the newscast was voicing the concern over the fact that the young girl singing at the opening ceremonies was not in fact the real singer, but had been put on the stage because of a preferable physical appearance.

In both those situations there were negative comments directed at China and its culture for engaging in such behavior. However, what could be the lesson or the awareness to be gained here?

I believe these situations are simply a Read the rest of this entry »

Can You Bend When The Storm Comes Through?

August 13th, 2008

“It Is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” Charles Darwin

Recently, after a summer wind/rain storm, I took a drive out to the country with my husband. As we were driving through a small town, I asked Roland to stop. Large trees were down along with many of the power lines. Some trees were completely uprooted, and others had leaves ripped off and broken branches, yet they were still standing.

Why the difference?  Why did certain trees manage to bend and sway and remain upright, while others that appeared to be much stronger and wider in girth were simply uprooted?

I would venture to say Read the rest of this entry »

Life Lessons Learned At the Ball Park

August 9th, 2008

My son learned many life lessons at the ball park while out on the field with his team mates, and I saw many analogies for life unfold, simply by watching these kids play ball throughout their formative years.

Yesterday, while picking up tickets to attend a pro game on Monday - I was reminded of some of those lessons.

What my son and his friends learned was that Read the rest of this entry »

The Winds of Change - Why Do We Resist Change?

August 6th, 2008

Changing careers, embarking on a new health regime, or thinking about getting into a new relationship can be all things that we desire, yet thinking of change can bring up internal resistance on our part, and we may not be able to explain to ourselves, why. That’s because change is really tied more with how we are Being than what we are Doing.

We are ever expanding growth seeking beings - therefore change calls out to us frequently. Some folks have been able to get to the place where they can embrace change. They now have an attitude of adventure, of fun, and of how can I enhance my life. Whereas others desire new results, yet feel afraid to make a change, and Read the rest of this entry »

Discover How Being Healthy Will Greatly Assist You In Manifesting.

August 4th, 2008

What vision of health and well being to you hold for yourself?

Thoughts are powerful things and they actually have a great impact on your state of health, and in fact, on all areas of your life. You and only you can control your thoughts.

This may bring you a feeling of relief or it might really annoy you. It depends on what you are currently experiencing in your physical body.

Quantum physics have proven that thoughts are very powerful processes that help you create your life. It is simply logical to state that it is much easier to think positive, life enhancing thoughts, when we are feeling well in our body rather than when we are feeling sick.
