What Would Make Your Heart Sing?

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Emerson said:  “Find your soul and poke it with a stick”.

I take that to mean light the fire within you…

Here in central Canada, we are already feeling the change of season in the air - the days are sunny, and the nights and early mornings rather cool. The birds are doing their thing… getting ready to travel south.

Inevitable change is in the air - not only for the weather and our furry friends - but for each and everyone one of us on a continual basis - whether we are ready or not, for it.

Yet, you can choose to observe the signs of what is happening around you - in your job/business - in your personal and family life - in your emotional life, in your bank account. By taking time to observe and get quiet, you can sense what the future may bring.

Then you are better positioned to take action, and move with more ease, grace and a whole lot more flow through this ongoing - never ending process of change - therefore re-spiriting your life!

Change is ongoing and comes whether we want it or not. So why not deliberately choose the changes you want to see ? Stretch yourself by envisioning and imagining more than you think is possible.

You have gifts within you waiting to be unwrapped. It all goes back to  - what would make your heart sing?

Know that if you can imagine it, you can achieve it. Time to listen to your own “croak”!

Can You Bend When The Storm Comes Through?

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

“It Is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” Charles Darwin

Recently, after a summer wind/rain storm, I took a drive out to the country with my husband. As we were driving through a small town, I asked Roland to stop. Large trees were down along with many of the power lines. Some trees were completely uprooted, and others had leaves ripped off and broken branches, yet they were still standing.

Why the difference?  Why did certain trees manage to bend and sway and remain upright, while others that appeared to be much stronger and wider in girth were simply uprooted?

I would venture to say (more…)

Life Lessons Learned At the Ball Park

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

My son learned many life lessons at the ball park while out on the field with his team mates, and I saw many analogies for life unfold, simply by watching these kids play ball throughout their formative years.

Yesterday, while picking up tickets to attend a pro game on Monday - I was reminded of some of those lessons.

What my son and his friends learned was that (more…)

The Winds of Change - Why Do We Resist Change?

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

Changing careers, embarking on a new health regime, or thinking about getting into a new relationship can be all things that we desire, yet thinking of change can bring up internal resistance on our part, and we may not be able to explain to ourselves, why. That’s because change is really tied more with how we are Being than what we are Doing.

We are ever expanding growth seeking beings - therefore change calls out to us frequently. Some folks have been able to get to the place where they can embrace change. They now have an attitude of adventure, of fun, and of how can I enhance my life. Whereas others desire new results, yet feel afraid to make a change, and (more…)

Change Your Perception And You Get To Change Your Life.

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Changing my perception led me to an exciting new career!

You see, last Friday I walked into the school board offices and resigned from an administrative/teacher librarian position that I was to start in September 2008. The folks in this division are absolutely wonderful, and work hard to inspire students - I respect them immensely and I tip my hat off to them.

What was also going on for me ..was that I had been offered a second opportunity - a chance to work in a new field. I was about to say no to this second opportunity… you see I had not yet danced with one of my demons (more…)

Did January See You Move Towards Your Intentions?

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

Once again the Holiday Season has come and gone and so has January, the first month of this brand new year and are you moving towards the intentions you set out a month ago? Many folks are feeling blue and some are feeling down right depressed because Christmas hype did not live up to their expectations. The higher the phony build up for many folks at that time of year, the further down they come. Too many people are led to believe that (more…)
