Following Your Passion - Part of Personal Growth and Transformation

Friday, November 28th, 2008

If there is no passion in your life then have you really lived? Find your passion, whatever it may be. Become it, and let it become you and you will find great things happen FOR  you, TO you and BECAUSE of you.

Passion - each and everyone of us has an area of expertise, something we love to do.  There is an intrinsic value in that expertise and it would serve us well - and serve the world very well if we took that expertise and brought it to the market place.

“Follow your heart, but be quiet for a while first. Ask questions, then feel the answer. Learn to trust your heart.”

Recently, while traveling, I once again met some absolutely fascinating people, people who possess enormous talents and gifts, in varied fields such as - health and wellness, in gardening, in sports, and in business. Not uncommon is the fact that these same folks do not necessarily view their abilities as something special, because these abilities come to them easily and naturally - as the abilities relate to a passion of theirs.

As human beings we often stop ourselves from doing what we love by getting in our own way. (more…)

What Purpose and Passion Will You Choose To Follow In 2009?

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Purpose and passion - I certainly do not know what you want out of life. Heck, I had a hard enough time figuring out what I wanted, and it has taken me a while to do so.

What I do know for sure, is that what ever you want, you certainly have  within you all you need to go forward and achieve that. There is the seed of greatness in you! Read that last line over again.

Will achieving what you want require that you get out of your comfort zone? Yes

Will it be easy? No.

Will someone tell you that you are crazy for going after your dreams? Probably

Will you get hurt along the way?  Yes - However, the pain of ducking life eventually hurts more.

Is it still worth it? Absolutely!!!

Four years ago, when my mother dropped dead suddenly of a stroke, at the young age of 69, with her music still in her; I promised myself (more…)

Thanks Giving Weekend - Thank You To Brave Heart Women!

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

Dr. Ellie Drake and Lynette in Alberta, Canada - June 2008.

Brave Heart Women Community is one of those gifts that I am most grateful for, and want to acknowledge at this time during our Thanksgiving weekend - up here in Canada.

The founders, Ellie and Charlie Drake have created an online community for women of all walks of life, to come together, in order to learn, grow and be all they can be! The tools and strategies available here allow a woman to recognize and maximize her potential. This is a community that a woman can step into from wherever she is on her life journey.

I personally have experienced the wonderful privilege and pleasure of being a part of this community, for the past year. Through the community support and the accelerated learning that is available here, I have accomplished much more than I could of imagined a year ago. I am so  very grateful!

My first articles, my first e-book, special report, videos, interviews, and so on were all created because of what I have learned here. The inspirational weekly calls, and masterminding sessions available, allow one to stretch out of one’s comfort zone and start to sing one’s own song.

I have gained more self confidence, more clarity around my purpose and passion in life, and I feel more deeply grounded.

When I think  of a Brave Heart Women, I see that 21st century woman, one who is intelligent, energetic, on purpose and who wants to be a part of the solution to the world’s current challenges. This online community is for the woman who wants to be inspiration in action!

Here a woman can learn to express herself,  say what is important to her, because here a woman is valued for who she is. I have had the privilege this past year, to express myself in a more meaningful way, and to do what it is that brings me a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.

So… I recommend the following to you: Don’t delay, give yourself a valuable gift, join the community http://www.braveheartwomen.com for FREE, and become a part of a global vision. Put your passion into action and learn to soar higher than you had imagined.

Thank you Ellie and all my Brave Heart Sisters for a  phenomenal year!

Lynette

Want To Discover Your Passion? Part 3

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

“The true definition of Success is to be happy and fulfilled.”

The last couple of days we have looked at the question of passion…
#1.    Discover what you want.

#2.    Personify your passion – ask forgiveness for whatever way you have neglected your passion in the past, and move forward.
And today, #3 – Are you making time for your passion or are you letting your passion get distracted? Our culture has often focused on time management in order to get more things done. However there is something a lot more empowering than time management and that is management of your emotions. When I learned the latter my life became more productive and less busy.

If you can  get real honest with yourself and take time to sit and reflect on your pattern of  being and reacting… you will get clues as to how you handle your emotions. The more grounded you can be, and the more you can let go of the emotions that are no longer serving you -  such as feeling overwhelmed, regret, and impatience the more time and energy you will have to spend on your passion.

“The more intensely we feel about an idea or a goal, the more assuredly the idea, buried deep in our subconscious, will direct us along the path to its fulfillment.” Earl NIghtingale (more…)

Want To discover Your Passion? - Part 2

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

“Your passion will get quiet if you do not respect it. It will remain quiet and you will not feel it much, until you give it some time and attention. Your passion will not be able to bring you the synchronistic events you need - if you do not pay attention to it. “

Reading the last couple of lines, you may be thinking I am off the deep end here - however give this train of thought a minute…

You may have been told in the past that you can speak to your inner child - your subconscious - your Essence - your higher self in order to start receiving and communicating with your internal world. It is the same concept here…

Now, You can do the same thing with your passion/purpose. Address it as if it was a person - quiet yourself down and spend a few minutes thinking about what you want to say to it - or write to it.

If you do not know what your passion is - tell it that. Like so many other things in life you can have a relationship with your passion. You need to respect it - to hear it, to follow it in order to be your best authentic self.

If you have ignored the signals it gave you in the past - it may in fact have gotten very quiet and no longer gives you those inspirational impulses. It does not mean that you do not have a passion, it is simply lying dormant. It is time to discover it - to awaken it - to re-energize it.

“Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their  lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” (more…)

Want To Discover Your Passion?

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Passion - ” Above all, be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it.”

A year ago, I could not have imagined that this past week - me, a prairie girl from Canada, would of found herself in Burbank California, being part of a filming for a woman’s on-line community -  BraveHeartWomen.com.

The learning and the personal growth that occurred this past week, give me goose bumps - but it all came about because I made a decision a year ago - that I was going to live my passion - and start by taking one step at a time - the first step being forgiving myself for my past “errors”.

After two days in studio, I spent the weekend talking and working with folks who have taken a stand for themselves. These individuals from all walks of life have made a decision to take a serious look at their life and move towards their desires and dreams.

P.S. It is never too late - at the age of 49, I was among the younger audience members.

This week, I would like to offer you tips, and strategies on how you can start to discover what is important to you and assist you in moving in that direction.

” Follow your heart, but be quiet for a while first. Ask questions, then feel the answer. Learn to trust your heart.” Here is today’s exercise:

Make sure you have a paper and one colored crayon or marker before continuing on.

Take 30 seconds and only 30 seconds. Draw or sketch a symbol of what you want to have created or accomplished  in your life in 5 years time - 2013. Do not get caught up in the how it will be possible. Just listen to your heart. Label your drawing - a couple words at most.

Tomorrow we will go to step two. Do not hesitate to call or e-mail if you want assistance with this.

Discover What Makes For Deeply Felt Happiness?

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Experiencing pleasurable moments and being truly happy are not synonymous in my mind.

There are many times in years gone by, where what I was experiencing at the moment was very pleasurable. I was spending time with people I love - I was outside with the sun shining brightly - I was eating my favorite foods  - I was walking along the beach and so on… You get the picture, as you have had those moments yourself. Yet, years ago, I was not always feeling happy on the inside, during those moments. There were occasions where I felt there was still something missing, though I could not necessarily describe that feeling or label the emotion.

With more observation and greater awareness, I come to see that there are many folks who have a life of pleasure - they are in a good position financially, they spend a lot of time in recreational activities, party a lot with friends, they go out to many events, yet they are not experiencing happiness.

On the other hand I have seen people who are not spending as much time in recreational activities, who are on purpose and doing work they love, who may have devoted their life to a cause that is dear to them. They get a lot done, are acknowledged in their particular field, yet they are not completely happy either.

So what is the secret to this feeling of happiness that we all seek? (more…)
